What I know for Sure - Lessons Learned from Quilting - This one hour lecture covers my 28 years as a quilter and how I became an author. The top ten things I’ve learned while quilting include how to stay motivated, how to boost your creativity, how I stepped into the world of publishing and how to simply have more fun quilting. The program is interspersed with plenty of quilts I’ve made over the years. You’ll go home feeling motivated and inspired!

Quilting Tips You May Not Know - From choosing fabric for your quilt to sewing on the binding, this slide presentation will cover tips on all the basic aspects of making a quilt. You’re sure to learn something you didn’t know!

Beginning Freezer Paper Applique - Learn hand applique using freezer paper and needle turn techniques. Class includes bias stems, inside and outside points. We will discuss alternate methods of prepping your pieces and when to use them. Several methods of preparing the background will be demonstrated.
This 8” x 12” tulip block can be used or any applique pattern from one of my books (book purchase required). Recommended resource: “Gathered From the Garden”.
Beginning Machine Applique - Learn machine applique using paper-backed fusible webbing and machine buttonhole stitch. Class includes techniques for creating a soft feel to your applique, and handling inside and outside points. Use your block to make the “Flower Pots” quilt or instructions provided to turn your blocks into a wall hanging.

Step Up Your Machine Quilting - For those with some machine quilting skills, take your quilting beyond stippling. We will practice stitching-in-the-ditch, stitching grids and some of my favorite free-motion designs. Learn how to “Quilt as desired” when we discuss how to plan your quilting designs.
Customize Your Workshop - Any of my books or patterns can be used to create your own workshop. Choose your project and we’ll go from there!

Beginning Quilt Making - This 5 week class covers all the basic aspects of making a quilt, from rotary cutting, piecing, marking, layering, machine quilting and binding. You have a great foundation to continue your quilt making. No prior experience required. Complete a small wall quilt or table topper.
Beginning Machine Quilting - This two part class will cover the basics of machine quilting using the walking-foot and the free-motion foot. Take the fear away from quilting, as you learn and practice simple techniques to make your quilting easier. No experience required. Complete a small wall quilt.
More Machine Quilting - Take your quilting to the next level and practice some fun easy designs, including marked feathers. We’ll also discuss and demonstrate how to handle a large quilt in a domestic sewing machine. Complete a small wall quilt. Beginning Machine Quilting or prior free-motion experience required.
Free Motion Feathers - Quilt feathers with little marking. You’ll surprise yourself at how easy this method is. Three variations of free-motion feathers included. Complete a small wall quilt. Beginning Machine Quilting or prior free-motion experience required.
